United Way: Capital Region – LIVE UNITED CAMPAIGN VIDEO

How to LIVE UNITED in the Capital Region GIVE. In these tough times our community counts on United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR) because of the safety net of services we help support. UWCR supports more than 80 programs and services to help people when they need it most. No administrative fees. 100 percent of the money we raise and distribute in our Capital Region campaign is directed to local programs and services. UWCR is able to do this thanks to a group of dedicated corporate contributors, called Corporate Cornerstones, who are helping to underwrite our already very low administrative and fundraising costs of 12 percent. We’re accountable. We are open and transparent. More than 400 local volunteers partner with us in every aspect of our work. This includes deciding how campaign funds should be allocated. ADVOCATE. What does it mean to advocate? It’s standing up for others and what you believe in. It can be championing a cause, or simply telling your neighbor why it’s important to support United Way during these tough times. VOLUNTEER. Offer to pick up your busy neighbor’s children after school. Spend a few hours every month at a local food pantry. Be a mentor. Share your skills by volunteering for a local organization. Put your time and talent to work in your hometown and watch good things happen. Looking for a volunteer opportunity? Contact UWCR’s Volunteer Center at 732.0700, or visit us online at uwcr.org.
