“From the Classroom to the Boardroom” LiveOps Hosts BizWorld Event

Fifth Graders from Sunnyvale, California Learn the Mechanics of Creating, Funding and Operating a Business

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (September 10, 2009) –

LiveOps, in cooperation with The BizWorld Foundation, is hosting its first Camp BizWorld event for elementary school children from Sunnyvale’s Bishop Elementary School. Over the course of two days, the students will learn how to take a business from concept to profitable operations.

“Our event with BizWorld is a great opportunity to expose students to the business world and how it works,” said Maynard Webb, chairman and CEO of LiveOps. “BizWorld has done an incredible job introducing the basics of business to children. We are thrilled to host BizWorld and the students of Bishop Elementary School to learn important and fundamental skills.”

“The BizWorld program will educate the Bishop Elementary School students about topics that go beyond the normal curriculum and show how they are used in real-world application,” said Eric Panosian, principal at Bishop Elementary School. “We are so thankful that LiveOps is hosting this event. The children will have a great model of what a successful business looks like and will have the opportunity to work with successful businesspeople.”

“In today’s tough times when many kids are seeing their parents lose their jobs, we need to inspire them with possibilities and experiences that ignite their interest and motivate them to create new businesses and to become entrepreneurs,” said Ana Blanco, vice president Development Director for BizWorld. “We applaud the work LiveOps is doing to help educate and train students about opportunities in the business world; they are a great example for others to follow.”

On September 10th and 11th, thirty fifth-grade students from Bishop Elementary School will work on site at LiveOps headquarters in Santa Clara, CA to learn the process of building a business from the initial business plan to sales and marketing and ultimately reporting to investors on their business success. LiveOps employees will advise the students as well as play different roles instrumental in developing a business from the venture capitalists who fund it to the customers.

In the BizWorld program, students work in teams to start and run their own businesses in a simulated friendship bracelet industry. Taking on different leadership roles, students learn the basics of business and entrepreneurship as they apply for jobs, design, manufacture, market, and sell their products in the BizWorld Sales Bazaar.
