“We are extremely impressed by the work BizWorld is doing to provide real-world context to classroom education for children worldwide,” said Maynard Webb, chairman and CEO, LiveOps. “The LiveOps Foundation’s goals are to reduce the barriers for those in the community that desire to make a better life for themselves by providing resources and services that support them in their quest for meaningful work. BizWorld provides fundamental life and work skills at a critical age in a child’s development; consequently, they are developing and shaping the workforce of the future.”

“By supporting innovative entrepreneurial education, LiveOps is inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs,” states Catherine Hutton Markwell, CEO and executive director of The BizWorld Foundation. “Current economic conditions have brought forth teachable moments for our children; LiveOps recognizes the importance of teaching finance and business to our youth, for our future.”

Started in 1997 by venture capitalist Tim Draper, The BizWorld Foundation develops curriculum that teaches elementary and middle school children exciting and pertinent concepts of business, entrepreneurship, and money management in the classroom, bringing 21st century skills into classrooms around the world.

In the BizWorld program, students work in teams to start and run their own businesses in a simulated friendship bracelet industry. Taking on different leadership roles, students learn the basics of business and entrepreneurship as they apply for jobs, design, manufacture, market, and sell their products in the BizWorld marketplace. In the BizWiz program, students play the roles of analysts, controllers and traders to learn the basics of saving and investing. Working in teams, students set financial goals, analyze forecasts, create a diversified portfolio, track their investments, and allocate assets and trade.
