SANTA CLARA, Calif. (December 11, 2008) –

LiveOps, the virtual call center company, today presented its second corporate grant for 2008 to Friends for Youth, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create quality mentoring relationships for youth who need them most. The organization’s vision is to transform lives through the power of human relationships.

“The mission of LiveOps Foundation is to support community service activities that enhance and serve the cities in which LiveOps employees live and work, as well as the issues that LiveOps employees support,” said Maynard Webb, chairman and CEO, LiveOps. “Friends for Youth is well deserving of this grant. Not only is it focused on a part of our community often overlooked or forgotten but the results of their mentoring services is having profound impact on at-risk youths – helping them create meaningful relationships that will help them succeed as adults.”

“This grant will have a significant impact on our ability to offer high-quality mentoring services to local youth,” said Friends for Youth’s Executive Director, Becky Cooper. “In these uncertain economic times, it is the smaller, locally-based organizations like Friends for Youth which are adversely affected by cutbacks in community-giving programs. We are so grateful to LiveOps for helping us to continue serving the community and making a difference in the lives of so many young people.”

Friends for Youth, based in Redwood City, CA, was created in 1979 by community leaders who identified a need for at-risk youth ages 8 to 17 who did not fit the focus of other mentoring programs. The organization first established the Mentoring Services program, providing direct services to local youth. To impact a wider population, the Mentoring Institute was created allowing the agency to share a quarter century of experience with other programs.

By establishing and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships between youth-in-need and responsible, caring adults, they have been changing the lives for the betterment of individuals and the community for 29 years. Friends for Youth’s impact on the community is impressive: an 88% average success rate in creating successful long-term relationships; 1,700 at risk youth mentored directly; and over one million youth impacted through Friends for Youth’s Mentoring Institute.
